Heating tobacco releases the flavor of real tobacco without burning it and thus does not produce smoke, ash and cigarette smoke smell. The reasons to switch from smoking traditional cigarettes to IQOS do not end with these issues, however.

How is heating tobacco different from other alternatives to smoking cigarettes?

Cigarettes and other ways of consuming nicotine have been around for a long time. However, recent technological advances, such as tobacco heating devices and e-cigarettes, mean that adult smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke cigarettes or use other nicotine-containing products may now reach for alternatives.

IQOS heats the tobacco instead of burning it. This is the ultimate difference between IQOS and cigarettes. As the IQOS tobacco heating device does not burn tobacco, it does not produce smoke or ash.

Similar to tobacco heaters, e-cigarettes also do not produce smoke, as they do not burn tobacco. However, unlike IQOS heaters and HEETS, e-cigarettes do not contain tobacco. Instead, they heat e-liquid containing nicotine and flavors to create an aerosol.
